3DRM Tech fabricates custom composite parts — carbon fiber, fiberglass, and hybrid layups — for applications where plastic isn’t strong enough and metal is too heavy. Our Montreal shop handles design, tooling, layup, and finishing, so your part moves from concept to tested component without leaving a single vendor.

Composites are often paired with our CNC machining service for precision inserts and bonded metal features, and with 3D printing for core structures and complex geometries that would be impossible to machine.

Carbon Fiber Fabrication

Woven and unidirectional carbon fiber layup — wet layup, vacuum bagging, and prepreg processes depending on the application. Carbon fiber parts deliver exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratios: significantly lighter than aluminum with comparable or superior strength. Used in aerospace components, motorsport structures, robotics frames, and high-performance consumer products.

Fiberglass Fabrication

Where carbon fiber’s cost or conductivity is a concern, fiberglass delivers strong, lightweight, electrically non-conductive structures at lower material cost. Excellent for enclosures, fairings, marine components, and industrial panels.

Hybrid Composites

Combine carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, and foam or honeycomb core materials to engineer specific stiffness, impact resistance, and weight targets. Hybrid layups let us hit performance requirements that a single material can’t achieve alone. Final machining of composite parts (drilling, trimming, insert bonding) is done in our CNC machine shop.

Tooling and Mold Making

We design and fabricate the molds your composite parts require — machined aluminum, 3D-printed patterns, or composite molds — so you don’t need a second vendor for tooling. For repeat production of the same composite part, we can transition from one-off fabrication to a low-volume production cadence.

Applications

  • Aerospace and UAV structural components
  • Motorsport monocoques, splitters, and aerodynamic panels
  • Robotics frames and end-effectors
  • Marine and industrial enclosures
  • Sports equipment and consumer product shells

Why 3DRM Tech for Composites in Montreal?

  • Design + fabrication in-house — no mold vendor, no secondary machining shop
  • Multi-material capability — carbon, glass, Kevlar, hybrid, and core materials
  • CNC finishing on-site — precision drilling, trimming, and insert installation
  • Montreal-based — meet us, inspect parts in person, iterate faster
