3DRM Tech runs FDM, SLS, and SLA 3D printing in-house at our Montreal facility — three technologies that cover the full range of prototyping and end-use part requirements. Whether you need a concept model tomorrow or a batch of functional components next week, we advise on the right process and deliver. If you don’t have a CAD file yet, our CAD design service can take you from sketch to print-ready model.
FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)
The most accessible 3D printing process — and the most versatile for everyday engineering work. FDM builds parts layer by layer from thermoplastic filament, producing strong, cost-effective results in PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, Nylon, and TPU.
Best for: functional prototypes, structural brackets, enclosures, jigs and fixtures, and end-use parts where surface finish is secondary. For repeated runs of the same FDM part, see our low-volume production service.
SLS (Selective Laser Sintering)
SLS uses a laser to fuse nylon powder into dense, durable parts with no support structures required. Ideal for complex geometry, thin walls, living hinges, and assemblies impossible or expensive to produce with FDM.
Best for: complex mechanical parts, snap-fit assemblies, and flexible components. For tight-tolerance or metal-property requirements, consider our CNC machining service.
SLA (Stereolithography)
Resin-based printing that delivers the finest surface detail and smoothest finish of any 3D printing process. SLA parts are excellent for visual models, master patterns, and applications where aesthetics or fine features matter.
Best for: visual prototypes, dental and medical models, detailed enclosures, and parts requiring post-machining or painting.
Not Sure Which Process?
Send us your CAD file and end-use requirements — material strength, operating temperature, finish, quantity. We’ll recommend the right process and quote within 24 hours. Need it fast? Our rapid prototyping service covers same-week turnaround across all three technologies.
Most FDM and SLA parts ship within 3–5 business days. SLS runs quoted individually. Rush options available.
